Playgroup Fun

Last Saturday, we had a playgroup... with another dad!  Mike (not pictured) is married to The Magic That is.... Janis.  We always have fun when we get together with M and J, not to mention cute pictures!

Olive and M-- "Uh, oh.  They caught us... "

" ...eating!"

I always find pictures of children eating so cute and endearing.

J-- "Gulp."

Poppy's looking at J like he's crazy.

"Please, sir, may I have some more?"

M and Poppy saying their goodbye's.

"That's enough, big fella!"

18 Month Well Visit

Quick update because I'm EXHAUSTED...

Went to the doctor's for 18 month check up on Monday with the help of Grandma Ro.  Current stats are:

Poppy, 24 lbs., 1 oz., 33.25 in. long
Olive, 23 lbs., 4 oz., 32.5 in. long

Olive-- "La, la, la.  The doctor's is fun!"

Poppy-- "No, it's not!"

Olive-- "Shots?  Let's get this over with..."

Me and Olive

Decided to have snack while waiting for doc.  Such graceful eaters.

Typical Poppy-- "I got it first!"

Snow!

We woke up this morning to about an inch and a half of snow, so I bundled up Olive and Poppy to play in the snow.  They didn't like being so bundled, but they loved the snow once we got outside!  It was like "A Christmas Story" when Randy falls over and can't get up because he has so many layers on.  A turtle on it's back also comes to mind!  We had a wonderful time trying to chase the dog, making snow angels, and eating snow (not the yellow snow).

"Why, oh, why are we dressed like this?"

"Snow is yummy!"

P.S. Jill's law firm's holiday card has been entered in a contest and they are currently in 2nd place!  Please vote for Proctor Heyman!

Shadows

I don't like it when my kids play in the curtains in their playroom.  They're made from a stiff linen, I think, and they actually get creases in them like when you fold a piece of paper.  So when I heard the kids playing behind the curtains, my first reaction was to stop them.  Their shadows looked so funny that I had to grab my camera before turning into Bad Cop.

Wacky Hair Wednesday

Many blogs I read feature "Wordless Wednesday."  Simply put, they post only pictures and no commentary every Wednesday.  Well, I declare today to be "Wacky Hair Wednesday."  Poppy and Olive's hair was especially unruly today.  Clips would not stay in for more than 10 minutes at a time, which makes for a really annoying day for me.  But, it's always cute when it happens.  Here are the results...

"Cheating" or "Christmas Update"

The photo issue has been resolved... sort of.  Instead of posting individual pictures of Christmas in Alabama, here is my dad's photostream on Flickr.  I don't know if you need to be a member of Flickr to view it, but let me know if you are having trouble seeing the pictures.  This is much easier than looking through and downloading only the ones I like.  Please forgive me!  Among Poppy and Olive's gifts from Alabama Christmas are Sing-A-Ma-Jigs, Pillow Pets, Dance Star Mickey, sidewalk chalk, and lots of clothing.

Jill and I did not want to ship our gifts down to Alabama, so this past Sunday was Christmas at our house with Pop-pop Joe, Grandma Ro, Nonna Josephine, Aunt Deedee, our babysitter Anita, and a surprise guest, Mom-mom Diane.  She flew in from Florida on Saturday and surprised us!  Olive and Poppy doubled their Christmas booty!  They got Cook and Play Potsy, jewelry boxes, a Talking Train to ride, and lots more.  Below are pictures from Sunday.  Enjoy!
