Two Month Doctor's Visit

OK. Here are the stats...

Poppy: 10 lbs., 9 oz., 24 inches long (95th percentile for length! How did that happen?)
Olive: 9 lbs., 8 oz., 22.75 inches long

They are growing nicely and were due for some immunizations. Both girls received two scary needles today. They got one in each thigh. That did not go over very well! Olive is still so sore. Thank goodness for infant Tylenol!

Jill decided to experiment with the Bumbo. Poppy was sleeping, so Olive was the guinea pig. She is able to hold herself up for about ten minutes while sitting in it, and she loves it! I placed the iced tea pitcher next to her for a size comparison.

Just to Post Something...

I've been trying to post for days, but maybe this smattering will suffice.

Little Ladies

Cousin Lauren loves Olive.

Andrea visits.

It was a chilly day, so the girls wore their cardigans!

What a great pillow!

"I love you this much!"

Looking more and more like each other...

"Your hair looks funny!"

"Look out below!"

Aunt Lee loves Olive.

Daddy has just as much fun with the toys as Poppy does.

Cuteness Caught on Tape

This morning, we went for a walk in the park. It became quite warm, so when we got home, I decided to blow on Poppy to cool her off. What follows is possibly the first smile caught on tape! Enjoy!

Olive Discovers a Toy

Forgotten Pictures

Last week, Olive and Poppy met their Aunt Ro, and I forgot to post the pictures!!! Unfortunately, I only snapped pictures of Aunt Ro with Poppy; I didn't get any of her holding Olive.

TGIF! (Part 3)

Random pictures to round out the evening...

Olive and Poppy staring at their favorite piece of artwork.
Ooooohhhh, look at the pretty colors!

TGIF! (Part 2)

So, Poppy and Olive had an outing today. They went to Walgreen's, Marshall's, Saladworks, and SuperG. SuperG--that's where it fell apart. Maybe it was the cold air or overloading them with new stimuli, but our stop at SuperG did not last long. Poppy did OK once she had her pacifier, but Olive wanted OUT!

Here are the girls in their Snap-n-go stroller. Notice Olive's disappointment!

Supermarket aftermath-- notice the tear from her left eye :-(

TGIF! (Part 1)

The title says it all. Yesterday was a tough one. Both girls were very fussy and needy... occasionally that happens! Diane (Grandmom) and I were at the end of our ropes and exhausted by the time Jill got home from work. Like the wonderful mother she is, Jill took care of both babies while Diane and I rested for a bit. Thanks, honey! You're the best!

I took Poppy to the doctor's yesterday morning because she has a rash on her face that was at its worst on Wednesday. It is probably a benign rash/baby acne that we need to keep an eye on. The doctor is not worried because it looks commonplace. I felt like a nervous parent! Better safe than sorry, I guess. As a part of every appointment, there is a weight check. Poppy is weighing in at 10 pounds! This morning, Diane weighed Olive on our scale at home, and she is 9 pounds! Check the pictures below for a size comparison.

As the day started anew, Olive had a very big dirty diaper. Why am I telling you this? I'm telling you because she is a happy baby when her colon is empty. It has set the tone for the day, as Poppy also has a new attitude and a spring in her step for the same reason. Hey, I'm giving you an honest glimpse into my life, people.

Diane and I plan on getting out of the house so we don't go nuts. The agenda includes Marshall's to return clothes, the vegetable stand, Walgreen's to pick up pictures, and maybe even grocery shopping. Let's see how much we get done with the babies with us! And without further ado, pictures!

Identical or Not?

We finally got the results of the placental analysis and the verdict is.... inconclusive! They cannot say for sure whether Poppy and Olive are identical or fraternal based on the placenta. However, the report did say that there was no separating membrane in the placenta, so the twins are most likely identical. Of course, there are other means... a blood test and DNA analysis would give a definite answer. So, if we decide to do that, we'll let you know.

The previous post stated that Poppy smiled for the first time. The next day, Olive started smiling too! I can't wait until they smile for an extended period of time so that we can capture it on film.

One last thing... I got a new car! I traded in my 1999 Jeep for a 2010 Subaru Forester. I had to upgrade at some point so that the girls would have a safe car, and I got $4,500 for my clunker! Back to Poppy and Olive...

Hello, my name is...
